Researchers from Liverpool, UK have found that people with depression tend to have more generalised personal goals than non-depressed people. Those who set precise and rationally attainable goals in their lives have a lower risk to develop depression than those who set goals like "being happy, being successful".
The study suggests that it is worth to define clear objectives in order to realize when we succeed. This way we can be more content and happy with our achievements and avoid the feeling of living our life without aims. Read more about the research here.
